Through programs that develop literacy, leadership, civic engagement, career readiness, and personal growth, the YMCA creates meaningful pathways for young people to discover their potential and make a lasting impact on their communities.
From building foundational reading skills through YMCA Reads! and the New World Reading Initiative to developing civic leaders through Youth and Government and the Civic Fellows Institute, our programs equip young people with the knowledge, confidence, and experiences they need to lead. Through Changemakers, Heroic Journey, and the Learning Center, youth and emerging leaders are empowered to explore who they are, connect with others, pursue their goals, and discover their capacity to create positive change.
The impact goes beyond individual programs. Together, these experiences help young people become confident learners, engaged citizens, resilient leaders, and changemakers—strengthening families and communities today while preparing the next generation to build a more connected, sustainable, and just world.
